In this issue of the newsletter I outline the investment case for a stock that is somewhat obscure, being a well-established name within the chemicals industry but relatively unknown outside of it. Furthermore, this company also owns an iconic defence-related business, making this quite an unusual situation.
While the chemical industry is currently in a downturn, there are indications of an improving outlook, and the prospect of a cyclical upturn over the medium term, plus the potential for a corporate event-catalyst makes this stock very interesting now in my view, particularly given how overlooked it is among investors based on a simplistic top-down view of the broader sector.
